The CLEANLINESS Issue...

Yesterday I taught a lesson in YW about homemaking. Part of the focus was on cleanliness and keeping your house in order. I STRUGGLE badly with that. But there were a few interesting points that were brought up yesterday, so now I'm looking for ideas.

How do you keep your house clean??
What works for you?
What tips and tricks can you offer?

Nikki said that when she makes her bed in the morning it helps
Shan said it would be helpful to schedule what she's going to do on certain days and DO it

What do you do????

Oh my, this is my issue as well. I feel like even if I clean my house every day its still a mess. And its only me and Devin, I dont know how I will keep up once kids come.

We all have tons of laundry right? I do a load daily but only when I have time to wash, dry and put away, If I dont have time it ends up setting in the washer and I have to start all over, that way I am not spending an entire day on that,

Thanks for you input on my blog Christy! Those were some great suggestions (ones that might actually work for me :) One thing that I struggle with, but still try to do, is keeping the kitchen clean. If I have dirty dishes and don't have time to clean them (or don't want to :) I Put everything in the sink and clear the countertops off. This gives the appearance of clean if you don't have a lot of time. Good luck on your lesson, you'll do great!

My number one suggestion is "prioritize"
I realized a long time ago that my house was probably never going to be as clean as I wanted it with 5 kids running around and me working...so I started making a list of what was REALLY important to me. Get those done and the rest can wait until another day. I do always try to keep my front room looking nice just in case visitors drop by! GOOD LUCK!

I would do certain things on certain days. That helps me if I stick with it.

Write down on your calander what you are going to do that day and right when you wake up do it. That way you get it done first thing and can worry about everything else.
